Short-term global opportunities

UCL offers a range of global opportunities for current undergraduate students, both during and outside of term. Study Abroad, Erasmus, Summer Schools and more, where will your degree take you?

Study Abroad recognises the need to diversify international opportunities for UCL students and has secured funding to support students who wish to undertake short-term global experiences. This will allow greater numbers of UCL students to gain valuable international experience as part of their studies. As many of the short-term opportunities will fall during the summer or other vacation periods and be non-credit bearing, we will be in a position to offer a range of options that will not be limited to study-based programmes. Our range of short-mobility options includes international summer schools, research placements and volunteering opportunities.

It is clear that there are numerous benefits to studying abroad, including the enhancement of employability, the opportunity to build international networks and improve language and communications skills. Students who undertake periods of short-term mobility will also profit from many of the same positive effects of longer-term mobility. Such opportunities will therefore be of great value to students who are not afforded the chance to study abroad as part of their degree or feel that they can commit to a term or year abroad.

Please be aware that some programmes due to run in 2021 may also be impacted by COVID-19.
